A total of 204 teams entered qualification competition. First qualification match was on the 25th of Aug 2007 and was concluded on the 18th of Nov 2009. All in all, 2337 goals were scored in 848 matches. CAF and Japan were qualified under AFC Fourth Round Group A and set up the best records as teams.
