The new movie Gnomeo and Juliet is a new entry in the Romeo and Juliet series. It features some garden gnomes who fall in love but have to overcome all those obstacles that life throws our way. This article is not really about the movie, but about garden gnomes. People have been collecting garden gnomes for years, but now you can have them with solar lights.
Solar Garden Gnomes are so much better with solar-powered lights. They not only look cute but they can produce a lot of light. They can look good in an entryway as well as a garden. You can put them any place where you want decoration and light.
As with many solar lights, you can find these solar gnomes in lots of styles, sizes, and colors. They also come in many shapes and many different lights. Some have lanterns, some lampposts, and others have a light in the base. This means you can get several different garden gnomes and place them around your house.
Because solar lights are safe, you can place these solar gnomes inside your home, camper, RV, or anywhere you want light and decoration. Just put them in the sun once in a while to charge them up. A solar garden gnome would make a great night light in a bathroom or hallway.
You will see that as you shop around, the gnomes seem to either be just one gnome or in pairs. There are even gnome couples (as in the movie Gnome and Juliet) or just two gnomes with various garden objects. Mushrooms are a common decoration with gnomes along with buckets and baskets and even flowers. After all, these are garden gnomes so you have to expect garden ideas and backgrounds.
Many people collect these garden sculptures for their whimsical nature. Their roots (pardon the pun) go back to European mythology and folklore. Gnomes were tiny men who live underground or in mushrooms and they guard pots of gold. They are shy creatures and try to stay hidden. The males are also described as having full beards, and tall pointed hats. Yes, there are female gnomes as well and you will see that with some of the solar gnomes.
Why should you get something like a solar garden gnome? They have the same features as other solar lights: No wiring, just place them where you want them in a sunny spot, automatically turn on at night, can run 8 or more hours on a charge, and they are safe and water resistant.
Go ahead; look into getting your own garden gnomes. Who knows, you may end up with a Gnomeo and Juliet of your own!
