Christmas Decorations – A Journey of Memories
Christmas decorations are a journey of memories for many. When you were little the memory of the tree with the special ornaments you created stay with you. Mom made you the salt clay and you made ornaments with the assorted cookie cutters. Adding some color to make your stars yellow and your bells blue. It was fun and you felt like it was a little bit of you on the tree. Getting older you made the simple chains that are a standby with the red and green construction paper.
Looking back, the egg cartons became bells with a cover of foil to grace the door. When you think about recycling it was not on your mind. We used materials at home to make our crafty decorations. This is a great way to add personality to our trees. When the children add their special decorations made by them they are thrilled to see it added each year. School pictures surrounded by an ornament cover brings family to the tree.
Then when you get older you might just add glass bulbs to your tree or just add angels or Santa,
‘keeping the theme simple. Just adding a new garland or new colors bring new life to your tree. You can even enjoy those Christmas cards from the year before by cutting circles and adding ribbon. When you become a grandparent you can add art to your tree from the small budding artists, your grandchildren. A new wave of ornaments to be made by a new group of little ones.
