Electric load (3 phases) working on a voltage of 380VAC, Its current is 5 amps. and its power factor is 0.8, Calculate the carrying capacity in watts?

Watts (3 phase) = 1.73 x volts x amperes x power factor

= 1.73 x 380 x 5 x 0.8 = 2629.6 Watts


Example 3:

LED works on 12VDC battery, The current drawn from the LED is 1 ampere. Calculate the power of the LED in watts?

Watts (DC) = Volts x Amps

= 12 x 1 = 12 watts

important note: For 3-phase motors, a new factor is added to the calculation, which is the efficiency of the electric motor.
